I am looking for information on Shadrach CARTER. In the 1820 Census there was a Shadrach B. A. CARTER. I know nothing of his age or where he was born. I was told that his dau, Phoebe CARTER born Feb 4, 1812 in KY died May 13, 1881 in Flat Rock Married Jan 25, 1832 in Flat Rock to John "Bareheaded Johnny" PARKER born Oct 16, 1810 in OH? died Apr 19, 1901 in Flat Rock Phoebe & John's dau Elizabeth was born about 1835 in Flat Rock died (I have been told 2 different dates) Jan 31, 1881, buried Kinsey Cem, Butler Co., MO - & April 2, 1895 married Dec 25, 1850 in Flat Rock to Mason J. GOFF. According to the "History of Crawford & Clark Counties, Illinois" a S. B. A CARTER & George CARTER were early settlers of Crawford County. It goes on to say that S. B. A. CARTER was a county commissioner in 1818. Then it says that one of the original members of Wesley Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church, dating back to 1825, was S. B. CARTER & Margaret CARTER. Was Margaret his wife? Does this church still exist? Does anyone know if the records exist? How to get them if so? I would love to hear from anyone who has information about these people!

I am searching for any info on a Barney Logan PALMER that was in the 1860 census in Gardensville area. He moved to Effingham co by 1870, but I am trying to find when he moved to Crawford, and any info on him while he lived there. Unless the census is wrong, he had one child born in IN in 1851, nad then the next in IL in 1853. I have another note that he may have been in the Robinson? area of Crawford co. Does anyone have access to deeds, minute books, or any other records to trace this man?

Hello - I am looking for any information on Lewis A. BISHOP. I believe he was married to Martha GROSS. I don't know when. My great grandfather, William A. BISHOP was his son. He was born in Oblong in 1873. Story has it that he married a woman named Martha OSBORN. They had 13 children. My grandfather Jack BISHOP was born in 1900 and left home at age 13 for New York. That is where we are now. If anyone has any info at all, I would really appreciate it. I cannot find any documentation on these people.
