Looking for any one researching the following family or having any information about the following story about my grandmother. Jack SCHOLEY & Thelma Mae SUTHERLAND were married very briefly , only a few months. We believe that Oliver Claude SUTHERLAND , father of Thelma Mae SUTHERLAND had the marriage annulled. This is what happened according to Helen CHRYSLER Ellis, daughter of Thelma SUTHERLAND Chrysler: The minute they married she knew she made a mistake. She went home that evening, spent the night at home and told Grampa she was married . Grandpa said "Thelma, you just broke my heart." He told her he would give them a year. She had really planned not to go back to Jack, but felt as if she had no choice but to follow through with her marriage. He was an only child and had several older sisters that were married with families. Grandpa had a lot of money at the time and in their eyes, Thelma was a "good catch." It was their encouragement and influence that led to a "run away" marriage. A thing of the moment. No pregnancy or any thing like that. She stayed with him about 2 months and left him and went home. I believe Grandpa had it annulled. I do not know where they were married. James W.
